Friends

Max and Sam are very lucky to have so many wonderful friends who have made our summer fun. Here are some of them.

Rylee and Max with his crazy locks

Max with Asha, Ali, LuLu and Ava at the Jacobsen park summer movie night. Still don't know who the crazy looking guy is.

Grandpa's June visit

How we love it when Grandpa comes to visit

....though our faces don't always show it

Max often talks about how papa is in Utah and that he went on an airplane and how Max is going to Utah in an airplane too. I can't wait until we can go again - Max will just love it.

Jumping in Sam's bed

reclining in mum's lap. Sam is a real softee and likes to be held alllllll the time.

I love tools too

The first thing Max usually asks for in the morning is his football boots "boot on?". Matt thought it would be cute if Max had his own cleats for when he went to watch him play softball and for playing at the park. Little did we know he would want to sleep and eat in the darn things too. We have had many tantrums because he cannot wear his boots to go to a friend's house or to church. Be careful what you buy thinking it to be a fun gimmick - it may become more a part of your life than you imagine.

Here is Max fresh out of bed in the morning with half his Pajamas still on, wearing his boots and Daddy's helmet and carrying his screw driver while he pushes his lawn mower. This was a good morning.

Out in the "gogger"

Lyman, Jay, Brian and some other crazies synchronised cliff jumping at Red River Gorge. Note Max in the foreground totally oblivious to the action behind him.

He was busy wearing a pink lifejacket and playing with a watering can.

May-ish 2009

a few photos from some time around May of 2009.

some of Max's favorite things are...

playgrounds,

baseball,

real football a.k.a. soccer,

tools,

his little brother Sam,

and Daddy's hat.

oh, and Daddy too.

As I was putting in these pictures of Sam getting into the dishwasher and fireplace I had major deja vous from a year and a half ago when posting almost the exact same pictures of Max. For anyone interested go to our old blog http://mattsarahandmax.blogspot.com/ and look at the January and february postings. Did we just have the same baby all over again??

Some of Sam's favourite things are currently..

not having his continually nasty nose wiped,

the fireplace,

the dishwasher, tools (like his brother)

plus, the dogfood, the pizza stone, the washing machine (which we occasionally find running an empty cycle), any kitchen items which he can drag out of cupboards, and his all time favourite - the toilet!

a taste of birthday

Happy first birthday Sam!!!!!!!!! What a wonderful time Sam had for both his real birthday and his big party on Saturday. Thank you to everyone who joined in.
Here is a little sample of his birthday fun. I love the part in the middle of the video when he tries to get his whole face down in to the cake. The full birthday posting is to follow - along with all the rest of the summer pictures. Computer time is limited with two destructive boys.

Tarr Fork, KY

Jay and Brooke Hamilton invited us up to the family cabin in eastern Kentucky. We went last summer too, with Tom and Bonnie, shortly before Sam was born. Joe and Challis White and their girls and Jeff and Cami Winters and Isabella went too. It really is a beautiful peaceful spot.

The family on the porch swing

Max had a whale of a time running shoeless with the kids. They found all sorts of bugs and lizards and snakes and swimming creatures - crawdads I think.

Cute girls and limitless pop - Max is happy.

Corn-holing - Matt's new hobby. He is now building cornhole boards - what a suprise!! Note also the many stray dogs that joined in our weekend fun.

Tired out already

The best night of Max's life. He was so excited to sleep in a tent with his daddy. He couldn't wait to go to bed and was so excited to be there. Matt expected him to be all over the place and crazy but instead he was the perfect little camper. Matt said that he kept thinking Max had fallen asleep but he would look over and he would just be staring up at the cieling looking happy. When he did fall asleep he slept all night long and woke up in a great mood. He opened his eyes, got a huge smile on his face and said "Tent".

Another highlight of Max's trip was the four-wheelers which he also calls "mo-bikes". He would have spent every waking hour on them if he was permitted.

And some sleeping moments too. He fell asleep on the homebound trip both days.
